Google removes Cyanogenmod Installer from Play Store
Less than one month since the launch of the Cyanogenmod Installer in the Play Store, Google has decided to remove the installer for breeching their terms and conditions. The reason given was because it actively encouraged Android users to “void the warranty” on their phones.
The installer did make it very easy for the end user to unlock the bootloader and to have the custom firmware Cyanogenmod installed to their phones. Many OEM’s have it in their terms and conditions that unlocking the bootloader will void their warranty and without an easy official way to revert the changes, it is understandable why it was pulled from the Play Store.
Cyanogemmod Installer is still available however from their official website but it requires the program to be “side-loaded” first before it can be used.
